Wine has been produced for thousands of years. The earliest known traces of wine are from Georgia .  Wine has long played an important role in religion. Red wine was associated with blood by the ancient Egyptians and was used by both the Greek cult of Dionysus and the Romans in their Bacchanalia; Judaism also incorporates it in the Kiddush and Christianity in the Eucharist. Football is a family of team sports that involve, to varying degrees, kicking a ball to score a goal. There are a number of references to traditional, ancient, or prehistoric ball games played by indigenous peoples in many different parts of the world. Contemporary codes of football can be traced back to the codification of these games at English public schools during the nineteenth century. (Wikipedia)

Plato founded the Academy in Athens, the first institution of higher learning in Europe.  Education began in prehistory, as adults trained the young in the knowledge and skills deemed necessary in their society. In pre-literate societies, this was achieved orally and through imitation. As cultures began to extend their knowledge beyond skills that could be readily learned through imitation, formal education developed.  (Wikipedia)

We are committed to the fundamental values of the European Community and worldwide friendships about the cultural assets of wine, football and education.
