European Footballteams of Winemaker come to Wiesbaden - 27th May 2023


As part of this year's Europe Weeks, the UENFW- Association of European National Winegrowers' Football Teams will come to Wiesbaden on Saturday, May 27, and will be welcomed by Lord Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende at City Hall.

At the subsequent joint event of the state capital Wiesbaden and the Europaunion Wiesbaden at the Schloßplatz, big and small soccer fans and wine lovers will have the opportunity to meet the representatives and players of the European Wine Team from eight nations and their wines and to compete with them in goal wall shooting from 11:45 am.


The wine stand will be run by students from Geisenheim University. The FC Campus, the student team of the university, organizes the goal wall shooting with the support of players of the German wine team, among them the reigning German wine princess Juliane Schäfer and the vice president of SV Wehen Wiesbaden, Jürgen Fladung.


The UENFW is a European association that brings together winemakers from all over Europe and gives them the opportunity to combine their passion for wine and soccer. The purpose of the association is to unite all existing national soccer teams of winemakers in Europe and the related promotion of art, culture and sports, in particular the raising of awareness for the cultural assets wine, soccer and education.
