UENFW Honorary President Dr. Franz Josef Jung, former Federal Minister and UENFW President Robert Lönarz welcome to the 1st official press conference in Stuttgart.

The international trade fair INTERVITIS-INTERFRUCTA-HORTITECHNICA offers an excellent business platform for a meeting of the eight nations, which recently hosted the "Union of European National Football teams of Winemakers E.V.". (UENFW)". Wine as a cultural asset is communicated internationally through ambitious sport. Messe Stuttgart has been an important partner in this success since it was founded, as has TIMAC AGRO, a subsidiary of Groupe Roullier, which is a founding sponsor.

Ulrich Kromer von Baerle, CEO of Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH, welcomes the international UENFW delegation to the modern conference rooms of the VIP Lounge.

Honorary President Dr. Franz Josef Jung thanked for the invitation and opened the press conference and board meeting.

1. EDUCATION, CULTURE, SPORT

"The truth lies in the wine and on the square" - with this quotation one is a firm component with the annual Gala of the German football culture price in Nuremberg. The participating member nations have jointly agreed to present the cultural heritage of wine through moderate wine enjoyment in the context of friendly, sporting football matches. The professional exchange of players (winegrowers or wine experts) should be supported across borders in an uncomplicated way. The integration of universities as educational partners is an important building block. With the Geisenheim University of Applied Sciences, the University of Maribor and the University of Pisa, the first renowned partners are already providing support. A European exchange program or scholarship of the UENFW "Education and Practice" is in final planning.

2nd VINOEURO 2020, Czech Republic

To cultivate European friendships personally and to carry a peaceful message about enjoyment and sport to the world is the aim of the European Winegrowers' Football Championship, which takes place every two years. VINOEURO 2020 Czech Republic is expected to take place from 19 to 23 May 2020. Martin Chlad, President of the Czech team and Head of Advisory Board VINOEURO of UENFW, will present the concept internally on the first day of the fair. You can look forward to exciting days in the beautiful wine landscape of the Czech Republic.

3. ENLARGEMENT OF THE EUROPEAN MEMBER STATES

A major goal of the association is the moderate expansion of the member countries that cultivate wine and football as cultural assets. France and Spain in particular should be mentioned here, with whom initial contacts have been established. Already on the first day of the fair, a Spanish delegation from the Federation Espanola del Vino was able to fix the key points.

THE UENFW

The Association of the European National Soccer Team of Winegrowers e.V. (Union of European National Football teams of winemakers) was founded on 1 June 2018 in Apače in Slovenia by eight nations.

Founding countries: Germany, Italy, Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia, Hungary, Czech Republic

The aim of the European Association, founded according to German association law with its office at the University of Geisenheim University in Geisenheim am Rhein, is the central representation of the national member associations. The association is the contact and contractual partner for European politics, business and institutions, develops a uniform set of rules and supports and monitors the preparation and implementation of the VINOEURO, which is to be held every two years in a member state as the European Football Championship of Winegrowers.
